Shattuck (George C.) is born in Boston.

The son of Dr. George and Eliza (Davis) Shattuck, George Shattuck graduates from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, then studies in Europe. He returns to Boston to practice medicine with his father and teach at Harvard Medical School (1855-73). A founder of the Boston Society for Medical Observation, George Shattuck dies in Boston on March 22, 1893.
